  • You must be available to participate in all required stages, including preliminary rounds if selected
  • You must complete the official AAQC registration form before the closing date

Which category applies to you?

AAQC offers three memorisation categories. Choose the one that reflects what you have genuinely and solidly memorised.

30

30 Juz — full Qur'an

For participants who have memorised the complete Qur'an and can recite from any surah or ayah selected by the judges.

Suitable for: Huffadh of all ages who have completed their memorisation and regularly revise.
20

20 Juz — memorisation

For participants who have memorised a 20-juz portion of the Qur'an.

Suitable for: Those who have completed a significant portion and are working towards the full Qur'an.
10

10 Juz — memorisation

For participants who have memorised a 10-juz portion of the Qur'an.

Suitable for: Participants in the earlier stages of hifz who are building towards a fuller memorisation.

Is there an age requirement?

There is no minimum or maximum age for most categories. Participants of all ages are welcome to compete.

A dedicated youth category is available for participants under 18 years of age. Youth participants will be assessed under the same standards but in an age-appropriate judging environment.

Do I need to be an Australian citizen?

No. You do not need to be an Australian citizen. You must, however, be a current resident of Australia — meaning you are living in Australia at the time of registration and competition.

Do I need to submit a recording?

Some categories may require a short recitation sample as part of the registration process. This is to help the AAQC team place participants appropriately and ensure the integrity of the competition.

If a recording is required for your category, full instructions will be provided when you complete the registration form.
